Design Services.
-
I offer an introductory discovery call to better understand how we can work together. In addition, I provide consultations with expert advice for planning and problem-solving on design strategies, art direction, packaging/print, point illustrations, artwork, and other visuals.
-
Follow-up calls with in-depth and context-dependent research, summarised within a report that you can keep. If desired or necessary, I offer behavioural and sensory insights. This can include problems that aren’t always visual — from auditory to tactile design.
-
Whether digital or analogue, I craft designs and artwork across a breadth of mediums from packaging, brand, sculptural, and print to product and craft a personalised quote that works for you.
Kintsugi Repair Services.
I offer kintsugi repair services — a traditional Japanese art technique that uses tree lacquer to visibly mend or decoratively paint on various materials and mediums.
The entire process can take one to a few months, depending on the materials used, desired finish, and complexity of the repair. Price is also determined by the same factor.

Depending on the project and desired finish, different materials are used.
Traditionally, urushi (tree lacquer) is used to bind pieces together and decorate. Lasting centuries, it affords a refined, neater finish, especially if covered with gold or other metallic finishes. It requires time, layering, and the correct temperature and humidity to cure.
Epoxy resin is a modern, quicker, and less costly method, but it is not food-safe. I use either or a combination of both methods, depending on your budget, scope, and desires.
Metallic / coloured finish. Gold and silver, as well as brass (not food-safe), are often used to create an even longer-lasting mend.Coloured urushi. Pigment mixtures are also available (green, purple, blue, orange, etc).

Mends include full breakages or fine cracks (still intact), and depressions / larger chips / holes (say, if you were missing a piece of porcelain from a cup).
Depending on the number of pieces, complexity of the breakage, and size of the chip, and materials used, time required to complete the product will differ.
Chips are filled with urushi or with epoxy resin and can be coated with urushi for a realistic look.
Repair lines can also be enlarged depending on the desired look.
Decoration include textured surfaces, maki-e (urushi art), and inlays (shells, wood, pigment).
